The Himba's Tribe Red Color
The Members of the Himba tribe often display a red hue about their skin and hair. They manage to do so by rubbing red ochre and fat on their bodies with intensions to protect themselves them from the sun!

The Himba tribe is a different culture indeed but it is their culture. Watching the videos in our Anthropology class and researching on my own, I realize that people are so quick to want to diminish the tribe into something that it is not. I felt as if Americans were not only mocking but taking advantage of the cultural and language barrier. I felt shocked seeing that many of those in the tribe were although taught english but only for the benefit of those trying to change the tribe's regular beliefs and everyday lifestyle.
